Off your jotter!

I buy a jotter.

It is yellow.

I buy a pen and paper pad, then rush to tell old Mum and Dad,

Expecting glee and fanfare now, got nought so much as upturned brow,

“Why!” My father does exclaim, “To get ideas out of ma brain!”

Thoughts form and I, urgent to share; my parents, they could hardly care.

“Come back”, they say, “with work to show. “This pad is empty, don’t you know?”
